JESUS IS COMING SOON

‘And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be’ - (Revelations 22:12 KJV)

This is powerful. But you know what some might be thinking ,”hmmmm It’s been a long time since you guys started saying Jesus is coming soon. Even the apostles of old thought Jesus was coming back during their days but here we are, he’s still not come yet”. Listen the truth is He is really coming back soon. Make no mistake about it. You remember the days of Moses, when he went up the mountain to collect the Ten Commandments. Exodus 32:1 says ‘when the people saw that Moses delayed ...they asked Aaron to make them gods to worship.’ The amazing fact is Moses did come back and we all know how God dealt with their disobedience, to the extent that in verse 34 of Exodus 32, God spoke of blotting out of his book the names of those who worshiped the gods Aaron made for them.

The fact is: God is not a man that He should lie. One day is with the Lord as a thousand years .....(1 Peter 3:8-9). Let’s therefore live each day like he is coming today so we won’t be found wanting. Jesus is not only coming back, but has a reward for us according to the work we have done. 1 Corinthians 15:58 Paul urges us to work enthusiastically for the Lord, because our labour in the Lord will not be in vain, suggesting we will be rewarded.

Let’s be honest, we all seem to be busy working each day, but the big question is who are we working for. Is it for our own pleasure, fame, riches or for God? Are we affecting other people’s lives? Is our work directly or indirectly emptying hell and filling up heaven? He is coming back with rewards but we only qualify for the reward depending on what work we have done.

I pray that nothing becomes our idol or priority but only God and his work. Everything else should be second to Gods work in our lives. At the end of it all, when all is said and done, we are all going to meet him to be judged and rewarded. You can only work for Him if you know Him and have confessed Him as the Lord of your live. Every day you are alive is an opportunity to accept him. Maybe you’ve always been in church or even born into a Christian family but not officially accepted Him as your Lord. I want to encourage you as you read this that it’s not too late to invite him into your life so you can also enjoy these reward and live with Him in eternity.
