How to draw closer to God
"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4:8)
In the midst of a chaotic and uncertainty around the world, this is a crucial time for brethrens to make time for God. In your life right now, what is awakening you to an awareness of your need to draw near to the God as Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Have you ever ask yourself how can some one get closer to God?. Then the good news is that, God is always closer to us all time more than we could imagine. The bible says in Psalm 145:18 “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth”
Therefore, it is up to us brethrens to draw closer to God as he is always closer to us. The question is can we draw closer to God? The ways to draw closer to God is through prayer and studying the scriptures and by doing so we will have the confidence that if we ask anything according to His will, He will hear us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. ( 1 John 5:14-15)
Have you ever shared something deeply important and then realized the person you are speaking to isn’t even listening? It’s frustrating when we communicate what’s on our heart and mind only to be ignored. Well, God is not like a man who doesn't listen or hear us when you speak to him. God always hears our prayers as Jeremiah 33:3 says "call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known".
Moreover, by taking time to study and meditating on the scriptures helps to build a relationship with God and draw closer to him as Hebrews 11: 6 say " without faith it us impossible to please him, for he who draws near to God must believe that he is and that he is the rewarder of those who seek.” Therefore brethrens let us draw closer to God than never before.
