NEVER GIVE UP!
This particular passage in Genesis 26 caught my attention and still speaks to my spirit powerfully:
“Isaac’s servants dug in the valley and discovered a well of fresh water there. But the herders of Gerar quarreled with those of Isaac and said, “The water is ours!” So he named the well Esek, because they disputed with him. Then they dug another well, but they quarreled over that one also; so he named it Sitnah. He moved on from there and dug another well, and no one quarreled over it. He named it Rehoboth, saying, “Now the Lord has given us room and we will flourish in the land.”” (Genesis 26:19-22 NIV)
Isaac's perseverance and trust in God should be present in all God's children. He did not give up at first try, nor at the second try and I am sure he was ready to press on even after many more tries, until God would "give him room" in the land. The bible says that God has given us dominion over the land we live in (Genesis 1:26-28). Isaac's attitude was one of not giving up but possessing what God has already blessed him with.
The enemy will always bring challenges, especially when blessings are on the way, in order to discourage us, but we serve a living God, a God that has been and is always faithful. Do not take a no as a bad thing, do not be disappointed, instead, give thanks to God in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and continue to seek His will in your life. He knows for sure what is best for His children and at times we must see a closed door as a huge blessing; perhaps God was protecting you and preparing you for something truly great.
God is telling you today to put all your trust in Him and NEVER GIVE UP!
