the word in your mouth is a creative force
Memorising scriptures is part of our spiritual growth, it helps us to exercise our mind to retain the word of God.
Our mind is a doorway to our spirit (2 Corinthians 4:4)
The word of God has to be in our heart to produce results in our life. When it’s in our heart, it’ll be in our mouth, and the word in our mouth is a creative force.
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for the you shall make your way prosperous and have good success (Joshua 1:8)
As you read the Bible pick out striking verses and recite them repeatedly by heart and meditate upon them, the word will gain ascendancy in your spirit. This is what my mother taught me from infancy and it has help me in my spiritual walk. At time you may not feel like praying but when you start quoting the scriptures from memory and praising God (especially the Psalms) sooner, The Holy Spirit takes control and you find yourself ‘flowing in the Spirit’
You can set a target to memorise a verse of scripture per week and measure your progress in it. You will be amazed at the impact of the word in your life.
The word of God will work mightily in you and prevail in every area of your life making you excellent in all things and in every way. And as you meditate on the word you will continually walk in victory, heaping successful upon success, reigning and rulings over circumstances, in Jesus’ Name. Amen and Amen.
