NO space for insecurity because I was fearfully and wonderfully made!

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvellous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.’ (Psalm 139_ 13-14).png

Hey beautiful,

Today’s blog is more dedicated to our female youth and young adult. I really hope this helps some of you. Before I start saying anything else, I want to remind you that you are loved, loved by your heavenly Father.

Do you feel insecure? Do you have moments where you feel that you are not enough? During my teenage years, I was insecure, insecure about my acne, my body and many other things. Words from people made it worse, it got to the point where I disliked everything about my body. Yes, I have been there! I thought I wasn’t enough for others. I made all these things shift my focus just on myself and which inevitably made me slightly take my eyes off  Christ and all the ways. All I did was finding ways to overcome this ignoring the only person who had all the answers (God). I realised that I was enough for God regardless of how I looked God loved me, He loved every aspect of me. We were all made with love by our maker; hence the following scripture explains it all.

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvellous are Your works,   And that my soul knows very well.’ (Psalm 139: 13-14)

This is the exact statement King David made to praise the Lord for how He created him. God’s creation of man is marvellous and distinct from everything else. God never makes a mistake; He patiently took His time to build every single bit of your body. Please have a look at how he wanted the Tabernacle built in the book of Exodus. He precisely stated what He wanted from the materials to the position of the elements in the Tabernacle. He wanted His Tabernacle to be unique and wonderful in His own eyes, the same way He took His time and precisely put every single inch of your body together. He made you with love. He fearfully and wonderfully made you so do not let any other person tell you otherwise.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own” (1 Corinthians 6:19).

Did you know this? Your body is the temple of God; therefore, please do not despise it. Always remind yourself that God lovingly, carefully, and patiently formed every part of our bodies. Our bodies are gifts to us, homes to occupy while we are here on the Earth. If you look through the bible from the book of Genesis to Revelations, you can clearly understand how deep. What I found was that from Genesis to Revelation, God’s Word declares God’s deep, everlasting, and dependable love and acceptance of me. I want to challenge you a little bit so you can see this for yourself.  Here are some bible verses that demonstrate God’s feeling towards us.

  • You bear the image of God (Gen. 1:27)

  • He knows every detail of who you are. He studies you like an artist examines his masterpiece, or a groom studies his bride to be (Matt. 10:30)

  • God loves you with an everlasting love. That means His love will not run out, dry up, or change (Jer. 31:3)

  • You were created with fear and wonder (Psalm 139:14)

  • The king is enthralled by your beauty (Psalm 45:11)

You have to start loving yourself for who you are because that will help you overcome your insecurities and gain confidence in yourself. Also, get to know your maker and His feeling towards you through the bible. I firmly believe that confidence and love go hand in hand.

If you know God’s love for you, you love him, and you love others, then you will live confidently before God and before your fellow human beings.

Starting from today, when insecurity knocks at your door, please do not answer but instead run to those verses I mentioned before. When people tell you that you are not enough, you are not beautiful, and the little voice in your head continues to replay those moments, do not be afraid! Instead, stand up and say to yourself I am enough for God, I am the apple of His eyes and He fearfully and wonderfully made me with love.

Lastly, I would like to tell you that you are loved, and whenever you are dealing with any issues the YAFC team is here, you can message us anonymously on our website. You can also reach out to us on our various social media platforms (check the website for info) or message me directly on my private account.

Never forget this: YOU ARE ENOUGH FOR GOD, AND YOU WERE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE!

With love,

Catherine/YAFC TEAM
