Summary of my meditation on God’s word today
Psalm 1 highlights what one has to do to be blessed by God. The verse 2 really stood out to me
“but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” Psalms 1:2
Here we see the importance of meditating on he word of the L0rd day and night as the one who does this will be blessed. Blessing is what happens to you through knowing God and meditating on His words.
Lord in this new year 2024 help me meditate on your word day and night
Verse 3 concludes by saying whatever they do prospers…
Lord this year help me not to walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers…….but delight in the law of the Lord, and meditate this law day and night.”
Matthew 1
What sticks out to me in Matthew 1 is the angel of the Lord appearing to Joseph in a dream. And speaking to him.
“But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 1:20
Lord this year I want you to speak to me in dreams. My desire is to get married this year and also for my friends who are not yet married to be married aswell. May you appear to our husbands in dreams and also speak to us in dreams so that we make decisions according to your will and purpose for our lives
Genesis 1 -2
My key take away is God constantly said everything He created was good.
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31
This year oh Lord may I be reminded of your love for me and how you see me. Any lie of the enemy to deceive me by making me compare myself with others and making me think I am less than, I pray that I will be reminded that you saw me as good when you created me.
Another thing to remember is God rested
“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.” Genesis 2:2
2023 was a very busy year for me. But this year 2024 I want to make the conscious to rest. And spend time meditating on God’s word rather than focusing on the busyness of this world.
