BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL
Glory be to God for 2021, the Psalmist said: In Psalms 103:3 ‘Who delivers our soul from distraction and crowned us with loving kindness and tender mercies’
We must not forget what the Lord has done for us. We are aware of how much the coronavirus has touched our lives. Some have been touched directly, others, indirectly. Having delivered us from such a disruptive year, we may be tempted only to see what went wrong and not what went well. Often, we focus so much on what is wrong that we don't notice all the good things happening around us.
Today, we want to turn our hearts in gratitude to the Lord for all the good things He brought our way. Psalms 98:1. O sing unto the Lord a new song for He has done marvellous things, His right hand and His holy hand has begotten us the victory.
The psalm reminds us not to forget the Lord's benefits. Psalms 103:2 Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not His benefits
It’s so easy to forget God's benefits in normal times and ignore all the good things that the Lord did for us. The Lord kept us alive. Sometimes we tend to take life for granted. Yet we have all seen how fragile life can be. While we have breath, we must honour the source of our life – the Lord Almighty.
We must bless the Lord for taking us through a full year. The Lord gave us new experiences. Some had a closer walk with God than ever, some had new jobs. Thank God for all the positive experiences He has given you.
It is good that we give thanks to the Lord, who is the Owner of our life. Let us continue to appreciate the life and health God has given to us. Hallelujah.
With Love,
