YOUR LIFE AS AN OFFERING TO GOD
“From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD, although the foundation of the temple of the LORD had not been laid.” (Ezra 3:6 NKJV)
In your daily life, in your thinking, in your talking, can others perceive the sweet and pleasant aroma of Christ in you?
Have you given the Lord what He alone deserves? Before you get that job, before you graduate, before you ask for a husband/wife, before you enter into that marriage, before the foundation is even being laid in any area of your life, before all that, the Lord must get His well deserved offering.
In the book of Mathew (6:33), Jesus told us to seek the Kingdom of God FIRST, and all other needs will be met. Thanks be to God for His one and only Son, who was given for us as a sacrifice, an offering for our sins, so that we will not have to wait for a certain day in the year to do a burnt offering for our sins, as people in the old testament used to do (see the book of Leviticus).
The greatest sacrifice anyone could offer is themselves: this is exactly what Jesus did. All He requires from us is to open our hearts to Him, to follow Him and live a righteous life: a life that will leave something good everywhere we go, a life that will point and lead to Him.
Therefore, above all, remember to put your life at God's feet as a pleasant offering onto Him and continue to do so even after any foundation has been laid in your life.
